GECAM WAS BORN IN MINERBIO, IN THE PROVINCE OF BOLOGNA (ITALY), IN 1990 FROM A LITTLE HANDMADE REALITY PRODUCING GASKETS FOR THE MOTORING SECTOR AND FOR AIR COMPRESSION, WITH A ROLLING STOCK PRACTICALLY NON-EXISTENT.
The cutting is carried out custom-made by water jet machine, die cutting, milling cutter and oscillating knife answering to various sectors’ demands, from the engineering to the design one.

The '90s
Since the early ’90s the company have aimed at the renovation of his production system buying new equipment and stopping the manufacturing of asbestos materials ahead of the times. In fact, few years later they were prohibited with a Government regulation.
In 1994 Gecam obtained ISO:9001 certification, always aiming at the best quality.
Simultaneously, the company aimed at acquiring new orders from different sectors in order to avoid as little as possibile fluctuations in the demand. With this in mind, new products for the aspiration air sector, electric and thermal insulation, sound proofing and a wide range of manufactured items with technical materials were produced.
EARLY 2000s
In the threshold of the new millennium Gecam moved to a wider location but always in Minerbio. During those years the rolling stock was increased with new technologies.
In the early 2000s the rolling stock consisted of 12 machinery as die cutting machines, water jet machines for water cutting and oscillating knife plotter.
Gecam, always environmentally friendly and attracted by renewable energies, started a project for a photovoltaic installation and for minimizing the use of potentially toxic additives and glues during the production cycle.
The 2010s
It is essential to introduce a new internal organisation which simplifies and optimises the resources in an increased corporate context.
At the end of the 2000s this change started with Federico’s arrival. Owners’ son, he worked hard to modernise the system in every sector, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering got in 2012. Since the early academic years he has come in contact with the corporate context: his experience started in the production department for drawings’ realisation.
Later, he was occupied in every department: from the storage to the work in the factory up to the commercial department. During that period Federico realized that Gecam had a dated internal organisation and for this reason he thought to a new corporate plan which could reorganize the production model.
Working together with his father they started a new ambituous project in order to transform the company in a stronger and competitive reality on the market: in 2013 summer Gecam.2 was born. A project which allowed the creation of a marketing department and of a quality control office, together with the opening to new application sectors such as, for example the design sector or another for the special packaging.
A 25-year history: with the same passion in each generation.
