The melamine resin is an open cell foam, flexible and extremely lightweight. Melamine is characterized by a high operating temperature and an excellent heat and fire resistance. It has a low degree of flammability and it doesn’t drip in the presence of flame. From an acoustic point of view melanin has one of the highest absorption coefficient if it is compared with the most common sound-absorbing products available on the market. Thanks to these properties melamine resin is used in all those situations where safety is of paramount importance. In the industrial sector inside engine compartments and in the aircraft industry as isolating coating. Moreover, it is also used in the building sector for the treatment of walls and for the production of false ceilings in cinemas, theaters, hotels and discos.
Melamine is available in an adhesive version with various thicknesses. It can also be provided combined with an oil-resistant layer or a heavy one to obtain an acoustic barrier.
